This project will review and update the Diploma of Logistics and related training products to ensure they reflect contemporary industry requirements, emerging technologies, sustainability priorities, and future workforce needs across Australia's transport supply chain.
Transport and logistics are critical to Australia’s freight network, making strong leadership and operational expertise essential to attracting talent and meeting growing industry demand.
Industry feedback identified the need to ensure the Diploma of Logistics remains contemporary and reflects current and emerging workforce requirements. This project will review and update qualifications, units of competency and skill sets to better support leadership development, technological change, sustainability requirements, and evolving supply chain operations.
The project aligns with priorities identified in the Transport and Logistics 2025 Workforce Plan and recommendations arising from the Omnichannel Logistics and Space Transport Skills Gap Analysis projects.
The transport and logistics sector is experiencing rapid transformation driven by technology, sustainability expectations, cybersecurity risks, and increasingly complex supply chains.
This project will ensure training products remain aligned with industry needs by strengthening leadership capability, improving workforce pathways, and equipping learners with the skills required to operate in modern transport and supply chain environments.

The project will address emerging technologies, environmental, social and governance (ESG) compliance, leadership capability, workforce wellbeing, cyber security, data analytics, and supply chain management skills. It will also strengthen progression pathways and improve alignment across transport and logistics qualifications.
Industry stakeholders are invited to contribute expertise and insight to ensure the qualification aligns with contemporary industry expectations and supports the development of senior management capability across the transport supply chain.
ISA is seeking participants from road freight and passenger transport sectors, as well as associated transport supply chain operations including warehousing and freight forwarding.

Stakeholder engagement
Industry Skills Australia will engage with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle and consider all feedback provided on proposed training product updates. A consultation log summarising stakeholder feedback and ISA responses will be maintained and published.
Following endorsement of the training products, ISA will facilitate a webinar to support stakeholders in understanding the changes and implementation requirements.
