Consultation Webinar
A Consultation Webinar, held on Wednesday, 15 April, formed a key part of industry engagement on the draft National Heavy Vehicle Driver Action Plan. Developed under the guidance of the project Steering Committee, the draft Action Plan aims to address Australia’s growing shortage of heavy vehicle drivers through a more coordinated, national approach.
Following the release of the draft, industry stakeholders were invited to provide feedback to help refine and strengthen the plan. Input was sought both in writing and through participation in the webinar, supporting broad and practical industry involvement.
The Action Plan is designed to bring existing efforts together into a clear, coordinated resource that outlined agreed actions, responsibilities and opportunities, while reducing duplication across initiatives. It also sought to build consensus on where policy changes, new initiatives or additional support may be needed. Importantly, it outlined a focused program of work for Industry Skills Australia (ISA) and stakeholders, complementing current activities and identifying areas for further industry or government intervention.
