Strategic Workforce Planning Committees

Since our June 2023 establishment, a key focus of our Jobs and Skills Council has been the establishment of a Strategic Workforce Planning Committee for each of our four industries - Maritime, Rail, Transport and Logistics (including Omni-channel Logistics and Distribution) and Aviation (including Space Transport and Logistics).  

These Committees will lead the development of the national Workforce Plan for their industry and embody our commitment to strong industry leadership of the Jobs and Skills Council. 

Following a public Expression of Interest process, we received over 170 responses from a wide range of industry leaders keen to serve on the Committees. The calibre and commitment of the applications we received made the job of reviewing and recommending to the Board a genuine challenge. On behalf of the Board and team at Industry Skills Australia, a very genuine thank you to all who expressed an interest.  

Initial meetings of each Committee have now been held at which Terms of Reference were agreed and members inducted on the role and scope of the Committee. 

Industry Skills Australia looks forward to working closely with each Committee in the development of the national Workforce Plans early in 2024.
